Pandora applies each transformation, cleansing and business rule to the data in real time (filter, transform, standardise, join, sort, group, sum, count, etc,) and the analyst can immediately see the results of each rule on-screen and validate or correct it.

This prototyping activity continues until all the rules have been specified and the data on-screen corresponds to what is required for the target application.

The on-screen data can be loaded into target applications or used as the benchmark result for testing.

During the prototyping activity, Pandora automatically memorises and optimises all the rules applied and subsequently generates complete, correct and unambiguous Data Integration Specification documents for each process.

These perfect specifications can be implemented using any data integration tool (most X88 customers already have one of the leading DI tools) or even hand coded.

For one-off migration projects or occasional data transformation tasks, the transformed data itself can be exported from Pandora and used. In this case, the prototype is the deliverable, in the same way that a prototype car can actually be driven.
