Collaboration

The best results on projects are achieved as a result of collaboration, and data-related projects are no exception. X88 Pandora provides a flexible, enterprise-wide environment which allows people to work together to get the most out of their collective skills and knowledge.

It is increasingly common for project teams to be composed of people based in different offices. Pandora provides a secure multi-user client/server environment, allowing colleagues from anywhere in the enterprise to work together simultaneously. We have clients with teams spread across three continents, collaborating on projects with a common server.

Members of virtual teams can work on the same data and metadata, and have real-time access to all work carried by their colleagues. Users of Pandora can work from any location at any time because all saved session information and activity history are stored in the Pandora server, and can be accessed anywhere by the Pandora Client.

Interactive Chat and Meetings

Probably the most effective way to use Pandora is in a workshop environment, with Analysts and Subject Matter Experts sitting and working together, capitalising on the synergy of the different participants. The extensive interactive functionality and rapidity of Pandora ensures that significant progress is made, far exceeding that of more traditional meetings and email approaches.

If colleagues are unable to work in the same office, they can use Pandora’s own interactive meeting and chat functionality to collaborate together in a virtual workshop.

Pandora provides an integrated meeting and chat facility. Users can chat privately, or schedule and control multi-user meetings where users can even share Pandora data views and documents with other participants simply by dragging the appropriate icons onto the meeting window.

All access permissions are respected for any data sent, with automatic scrambling of sensitive information.

Collaborative Workflow

Pandora can attach categorised notes to any repository item, for example Tables, Columns and Relationships. These notes can also be assigned to colleagues in order to involve them in a task, and can be updated by multiple users, much like a bulletin board. Pandora's security model controls who can see what, and who can contribute.

Notes can have attachments of live views of data and/or metadata and confidentiality and security are ensured by Pandora's comprehensive security model. Full searching, reporting and exporting capabilities are provided for the notes database.
